| Echodub / Music Blog | | | EDUB005 Released | Kwality graces the 5th single release from Echodub, and with him comes a deep, sweeping wave of bass, melody and razor sharp rhythm. Hailing from Victoria, Australia's most densley populated & urbanised state, Kwality brings us soul from the southern hemisphere.
Candlelight is a finely crafted dubstep overture, with waves of undulating bass, pin-sharp percussion and layers of melody which build a beautiful, deep yet delicate track.
Downpour continues with Kwality's well layered melody and tones, but takes things firmly towards dub-techno, and hints towards a more dancefloor friendly strain of dub-techno.
Residual Shift takes the 4-4 drumbeat of Downpour and again builds a fantastic delicate synth line over the top, with smooth sweeps of sound and a melody that gives Kwality's work that professional subtlety.

Out now, "Granted" "Farewell" and DFRNT's remix of "Granted" bring us sweeping orchestral soundscapes, sinister undulating rhythms, and some genuine suspense. "Granted" brings us an intimately structured ethereal melody, while "Farewell" explores a slightly more leftfield approach with off-kilter sweeps and carefully considered minimal percussion. DFRNT returns the favor from his previous release (EDUB003) and lends a hand at remix duties for "Granted". A dark, eerie composition, capturing all of the suspense and tension of the original while morphing the concepts of the track into something completely new. | | 2008-11-21 19:00:07 | | | EDUB003 - Released | DFRNT's second Echodub release, brings us more of that spacey, chilled atmospheric, yet melodic production, coupled with fellow label-mate King slaFF's re-working skills.
'Lounge' is a smooth organ-led exploration in to downtempo dubstep, with an ethereal synth line sitting over a beat which would best be described as 'flowing'.
'Wake Up' is a wider, more soundtrack-based piece, building up to an incredibly chilled drop which sounds like a cross between the sounds of an underwater utopia, and a sunrise over a winter landscape.
DFRNT's second Echodub release, brings us more of that spacey, chilled atmospheric, yet melodic production, coupled with fellow label-mate King slaFF's re-working skills.
King slaFF stands forth on remix duties for 'Lounge' and brings us a new angle on the track. Beats, synths and percussion all get thrown in, re-arranged and extracted into an exemplary compliment to the original. | | 2008-10-05 13:08:13 | | | EDUB002 - Released | Emi Ono brings us 3 pristine crisp dubstep/techno fusion tracks from her catalogue.
Ikidomari, the elegant, yet COMPLETELY on point and most dubstep-esque track, combined with 2 more techno based tracks, Kuukan and Orb. Kuukan takes a more pressure based approach with a driving rhythm that takes you head-on, while Orb eases slightly on the rhythm, giving in to a broken more breaks style flow. | | 2008-10-01 12:54:37 | | BLOG ARCHIVE
